Genitourinary Cancer Care and Services at WPAHS
The Genitourinary Cancer Center treats cancers of the urinary tract and male genital tract with the shared goals of controlling cancer and preserving quality of life after treatment.

The urology resources of the West Penn Allegheny Health System enjoy a national reputation for the development of new clinical modalities for a variety of urological conditions and diseases. WPAHS physicians pioneered the use of cryo-surgical techniques in the treatment of prostate cancer and are our urologists are also trained in the latest surgical procedures --including robotic surgery -- for optimal treatment of prostate cancer and other genitourinary cancers.

Prostate Cancer Institute at WPAHS
In addition to the urological services, The West Penn Allegheny Health System offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services for prostate cancer, including newly developed brachytherapy techniques and minimally-invasive surgical techniques to more efficiently treat localized tumors.
The Center is dedicated to serving the urologic health care needs of our region and is among the first in the country to offer prostate cancer patients an advanced technology that greatly improves the safety and effectiveness of radiation therapy.
The Prostate Center has been carefully designed to meet the needs of patients recently diagnosed with prostate cancer with the goal of helping patients make an informed choice as to which treatment option best suits his needs. During a thorough evaluation and education process, patients are evaluated by both an urologist and a radiation oncologist.
